How the workshops will work
Each workshop will be two hours long and will be a mix of me ‘presenting’ (not too much!), using lots of great images, and providing step by step guidance. There’ll be demonstration videos and plenty of time for you to create your own amazing journal pages, based on the themes and ideas each week, within a supportive and creative online community.
The focus is on drawing, enjoying drawing, developing observation skills and using drawing to creatively reflect on and capture your life and the world about you.
Each workshop will include a fun warm up activity, a themed drawing session and ideas for using creative lettering.
After you’ve booked a place I’ll email you a link for each workshop which you just click on at the start time of the meeting and follow the instructions to join zoom.

Seasonal Sightings
Use drawing to help you notice and record the big and small changes each season brings.
WEEK 2

How many ways can we visually capture and represent our day?
We’ll bring it all together with a focus on composition!
WEEK 3
food for thought
Baking, cooking, stacks of tins, mugs for coffee, cups of tea, store cupboard goodies and favourite recipes...
We’ll explore them all with a focus on form and colour!
WEEK 4
tools of the trade
What do you, or someone you know, do for work, as a hobby or interest?
We'll use a range of tools and a focus on negative space to tell this story!
What materials and sketchbooks or journals do I need?
For this art journaling course I encourage you to use what you have to hand at home. I have built up a collection of pens, pencils, crayons and inks over the years – and you may have too.

Last but not least
I've been running my Adventures in Art Journaling workshops in person since 2017 and online since 2020. I have now carefully, and I hope creatively, devised Further Adventures in Art Journaling as an exciting and engageing development! I'll look forward to meeting you!
